Accessibility Statement
I want Owen Shiels Therapy to be as straightforward and accessible as possible for people considering or attending therapy.
Accessibility needs can vary from person to person, so if there is something that would make it easier for you to access the website, contact me or attend therapy, please feel free to let me know.
Using this website
I have tried to make this website clear and easy to navigate, with readable text, straightforward language and a consistent page structure.
If you find any part of the website difficult to use or access, or notice something that could be improved, please contact me. I may not always be able to resolve every issue immediately, but I will take accessibility concerns seriously and look at what can reasonably be changed.
Access to face-to-face therapy
I currently offer face-to-face therapy in Morpeth and Berwick-upon-Tweed.
My consulting rooms at both Oldgate Therapy Centre in Morpeth and Bab’yama Wellness Hub in Berwick-upon-Tweed are upstairs and there is no lift. This means that unfortunately these rooms may not be suitable for everyone with mobility or access needs.
If using stairs would make it difficult or impossible for you to attend, you are welcome to contact me before arranging a session. We can talk about whether online therapy may be a suitable alternative for you.
More practical information about each location is available on the Therapy in Morpeth and Therapy in Berwick-upon-Tweed pages.
Online therapy
I also offer online therapy to adults across the UK.
Online therapy can sometimes provide a more accessible option where travelling or accessing a therapy room is difficult. You will need a suitable device, internet connection and somewhere sufficiently private for your session.
If you have a particular access or communication need that may affect online sessions, please let me know and we can discuss what might be helpful and whether I am able to accommodate it.
Communication and individual access needs
If there is something that would help you communicate with me or take part in therapy more comfortably, you are welcome to tell me.
I do not want to make assumptions about what somebody may need. Where possible, we can talk together about what would be useful and whether any reasonable adjustments to the way we communicate or work together are possible.
Contacting me about accessibility
If you have difficulty using this website, have a question about physical access to either therapy location, or would like to discuss an access need before starting therapy, you can contact me at:
Email: info@owenshielstherapy.com
Telephone: 07871 846874
You can also use the Request a Free Call page on this website.
About this statement
This statement describes the accessibility arrangements I am currently aware of. I have not made claims here that the website or service meets a particular formal accessibility standard or has undergone an independent accessibility audit.
This statement may be updated as the website, therapy locations or accessibility arrangements change.
